We’re back…
The Skillset Academi+ Pilot, which the Media Academy Wales ran as its short course arm in 2009-11, trained over 350 industry professionals at all levels on 54 courses was a fantastic success. We now have some more exciting news!
We are pleased to announce that the through the Work Based Learning Programme, funded by the EU’s Convergence European Social Fund through the Welsh Government, Skillset Academi+ will expand into new territories – both geographically and in terms of course content.
In partnership with the University of Wales, Newport; Swansea Metropolitan University, Cardiff Metropolitan University, and Aberystwyth University, Skillset Academi+ aims to meet the needs of those across the convergence area.*
Skillset Academi+ will run 30 short courses, which will be:
- Credit-bearing
- Full or part-funded
- For those who live and/or work in the convergence area of Wales.
All courses will:
- Require 30 hours contact time
- Will be run by university tutors and industry experts
- Will have the option to submit project work to gain credits towards an MA in a relevant subject.
Courses will each run three times from March 2012 to summer 2014 and will cover a range of areas including:
- Advanced animation techniques
- Marketing & financial management
- Publishing
- Design
